Portland, Oregon: Four local businesses have signed leases in the highly anticipated fresh food Market Hall at Downtown Rockwood.

The 39,000 square foot Market Hall will provide an activated center for locals and visitors to enjoy the flavors of the community. The building will feature micro-restaurants, micro-retail stores, six ethnic groceries, Class-A office space, and rentable commissary kitchen space with cold storage.

On Friday, four businesses became the very first tenants of the Market Hall. Locally-owned DB Dessert Company will provide desserts, pastries, and custom cakes. Momma G’s Soups specializes in gluten-free baked goods and artisanal soups like African Peanut, Hungarian Mushroom, and Carrot Ginger. Pupuseria Miguelena will share authentically crafted El Salvadorean pupusas. Taste of Casablanca will share the flavors and colors of Moroccan cuisine with Rockwood.

The Market Hall – as well as a public plaza featuring three age-specific playgrounds, green space, and a splash pad – are currently under construction and scheduled to open in October 2021.

Prospective Market Hall tenants are required to follow processes that include filling out an online interest questionnaire and interviewing with a City of Gresham-led Tenant Selection Committee made up of local business and community leaders. Following business readiness review, tenants may then negotiate lease agreements with RKm Development of Central Bethany.

Downtown Rockwood is Gresham’s newest community empowerment project, which is centered around economic revitalization and entrepreneurship. Downtown Rockwood is located at 18535 SE Stark Street adjacent to the Rockwood/East 188^th Avenue MAX stop.
